My Story

From a young age I was filled with a passion for creativity and a desire to work with people. My enthusiasm for creating beautiful spaces can be traced to my relationship with my creative grandma; also an interior designer. Thankfully, my family was willing to let me explore my creativity as a child, whether that meant making messes in the adventures of baking, wrapping empty boxes to practice my taping skills, or drawing floor plans on kids menus at restaurants.

After a childhood filled with building houses in my bedroom out of jenga blocks, I packed my umbrellas and headed from sunny California to Seattle to study interior design in college. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from Seattle Pacific University and my Associates of Arts degree in Interior Design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.

While in college, I started my design and lifestyle blog in 2010, Michaela Noelle Designs. What started as a way to document my studies and school projects, became a journal sharing decorating ideas, client projects, fashion and entertaining posts, and glimpses into our own home and life.

A California girl at heart, I live in West Michigan with my computer-engineer- husband, our much-prayed for twin baby boys, and Australian Labradoodle, making our first house a home together.
